Welcome to the Canynges Society website

Thank you for visiting this site, you are very welcome here.

Who we are

The Canynges Society is dedicated to supporting the church of St Mary Redcliffe, which was described by Queen Elizabeth I as "the fairest, goodliest and most famous parish church in England". We are a registered charity in England and Wales.

What we do

The Society raises funds for the restoration and upkeep of the church building and for the improvement and adornment of the fabric of both the church and churchyard. We rely entirely on the generosity of the public and the business community for funds to do this.

How to support the Society

You can support the Society through donations or through annual membership. Every contribution is welcome - from individuals, trusts and other charities and from the commercial community. To make a gift go to donations and membership.

The membership scheme allows you to make a regular commitment to our work, through payment of at least the minimum annual subscription sum. Such committed support is of particular value to the Society's essential work. To find out more about the benefits of membership go to donations and membership.
